,been black and blue before • • • • there’s no need to explain <<
>>I am not the jaded kind, • • • • playback’s such a waste -x- Kurt frowned a little at Sam, wishing he would realize that he wasn't angry at all. He didn't want him to feel like he had done something completely wrong or out of line. Sometimes words didn't do a situation justice, you had to step out and make some type of move. And truthfully, Kurt was fine with it. He wasn't disgusted or angry at all. ”Sam, stop apologizing.” He moved his hand to the taller boys chin and turned his face so he was looking into his eyes. ”I'm not angry, alright?” He gave a slight grin an moved his hands behind his back, fidgeting a little and wondering what to do next. He closed his eyes and remembered the last time he was kissed. Both times he had been surprised, but he would chose kissing Sam over Karofsky any day. Heck, he would chose kissing even Finn before Karofsky. But that would be incredibly awkward. Besides, he really did like the way it felt when Sam kissed him. It was just... new. It made him feel like he could forget about the situation with Karofsky and completely move on from it. It made him feel better than he had in a long time.
Kurt felt bad as Sam sniffled, continuing to cry. He knew Sam had a hard time in front of him and hoped that he could at least comfort him about the situation a little. It was hard for Kurt to come out to his dad, although Burt pretty much knew already. But Sam? Kurt didn't know if his family was accepting to gays. What if they kicked him out? Surely they wouldn't – not while they were in a tough time right now. Sam was strong, and Kurt envied him for it. He noticed Sam was reaching for his hand from where he was sitting. Kurt grabbed it and sat down along with him, letting his fingers intertwine with the stronger boys, and returned the large smile. He relaxed a little and sat down on the concrete, not caring how dirty his pants became for once.
”It gets better. It really does. Just give it time.” he whispered and leaned against Sam's shoulder, wondering how he got from the complete underdog of the school to kissing a guy on the football team which he actually had feelings for. He couldn't have dreamed of being where he suddenly was now. It was too good to be true. Sam's crying died down suddenly and Kurt took the opportunity to talk. ”Do you want to talk about it?” he asked, not knowing if Sam had any... questions or maybe just wanted to get it out of his system. Kurt knew that talking sometimes helped. He loved staying over with Mercedes because she listened, she gave him a shoulder to cry on when he wasn't comfortable with speaking to anyone else. Kurt hoped he could maybe be that person for Sam. He didn't want Sam to feel alone right now, because that was the last thing anyone needed right now. He needed someone to be there for him no matter what.
”I'm here for you, alright?” He spoke, just wanting to make sure that Sam knew he wasn't alone.

i think the spotlight always gives you stage fright †WISH THIS ALL WOULD END RIGHT†
†STOP MAKING MY HEAD SPIN† it's over but what if we just pretend
The blonde quickly shook his head, knowing that he wasn't in the emotional state to talk about it. He was an emotional wreck. Even though the pressure inside him that built up from finally outting himself to Kurt was released, it seemed to have zapped all life form Sam. Tears were already welling up in his eyes again when Kurt stated that he was going to be there for him. He once again felt horrible for making Kurt watch the emotional trainwreck, but Sam swallowed the thought. Kurt had told him to stop apologizing, and that was that. Perhaps one day he would be able to let down his walls that have taken years to construct. Perhaps one day he would be able to pour every little detail out to Kurt about how he wishes things could be better and easier. Perhaps one day he would be able to tell Kurt how his heart ached at night because he knew his parents wouldn't approve of his sexuality. But it was all too much, and tonight wasn't going to be that night. A tear traced down Sam's cheek, following a somewhat dried path from former tears.
"I don't see how you do it." The blonde leaned his head against Kurt's, thrilled to have a form of contact. Just knowing that someone was there for him was a phenomenal feeling. His hazel eyes once again focused on their spot in the distant parking lot, not knowing where else to look. "You're so proud about who you are. I-" he stammered, trying to collect himself, "I just don't see how you're not so scared about it." If anyone were to find out about Sam's sexuality, he would be ruined. How Kurt managed to live such an easygoing life, aside from the rare Karofsky run-in, was beyond Sam. The blonde snaked a strong arm around Kurt's midsection and slowly pulled him closer, wanting more reassurance from the smaller boy. "Kurt, I-"
As if on cue, the door to the Evans' makeshift household creaked open. Yellow light spilled out into the motel's lot, illuminating Kurt and Sam even more. The larger male lifted his head off of Kurt's and glanced over his shoulder, hearing two sets of footsteps prance towards them. Bambi was still heard from the living room, but evidently the two kids weren't paying attention anymore. "Sam, why are you crying," Stevie asked with the innocence of a child. A soft grin spread across Sam's face, trying to hide the tears. It was bad enough that the two siblings had to witness Sam breakdown earlier that year, but twice was enough. He quickly wiped at his face to ensure all streaks were gone - or so he hoped. "It's okay kids," his grin still showing, "Kurt and I were just talking." Even though Sam was the king of everything nerdy, his improvised excuses lacked believable originality. "Right, Kurt?" ( NOTES ) Daww. ( WORDS ) 485. ,been black and blue before • • • • there’s no need to explain <<
>>I am not the jaded kind, • • • • playback’s such a waste -x- Kurt sighed a little and smiled when Sam leaned against him, glad that he felt somewhat relaxed around Kurt. He didn't want Sam to feel like he had to put on a mask of sorts around him. ”I don't see how you do it.” Kurt bit his lip and leaned his head against Sam's, pondering what to say next. In truth, he didn't really know how he did it himself. He got up in the morning and faced each day with an almost terror-like feeling. He never knew what was going to happen. He never knew exactly how far Karofsky would go. All he tried to do was get through each day to his best ability. ”I am scared about it, Sam. I'm terrified. I never know what's going to happen next. Something is always going on, and I just have to... plow through it and look beyond the bad. You just have to focus on the good sometimes.” He felt the lump in his throat, signaling the tears which were springing up in his eyes. ”I'm proud to be who I am, because I'm not going to change for anyone. I was born the way I was, and I love being myself... but people aren't accepting. And Sam,” He brought his head up and tilted his face around to look into the boys eyes. ”Even though people tell you that you can't, because they will,” The tears were running down his face now. ”Never lose who you are, okay?”
He gave Sam's hand a squeeze and leaned back into him, closing his eyes and just focusing on the feeling of being close to someone for a moment. He had never been able to just... rely on someone like he felt he could now. He loved the feeling. He hoped that Sam wouldn't have a hard time. ”You remember how you and the rest of the guys offered to protect me before I left for Dalton?” He asked and wiped away some of the tears. ”Even though it may take some getting used to for them, I expect they'll do the same for you if something happens. But nothing is going to happen, alright? You'll be fine.” He opened his eyes and looked out into the parking lot. When Sam's arm was suddenly on his waist, tugging him closer, he returned the gesture and put his arm around Sam.
He was listening to what Sam was about to say, but the sudden stream of light caused him to sit up a little. He wiped away some of the visible tears after Sam's siblings ran out, not wanting to scare them. He thought the way they worried about their big brother was just adorable. ”Yeah, we were just talking a little. How is your movie?” He asked and took his hand away from Sam's grip, not wanting them to question anything. He knew the two probably wouldn't notice, but he was still unsure of what Sam's parents view on the situation would be and didn't want either of them to say something.
