Well, I've got some good news and some bad news. How 'bout the bad news first? It's always good to get that over with.
1. Our favorite Trouty Mouth, Chord Overstreet has not been promoted to a series regular. But don't worry! This doesn't mean he won't be a guest! This just means a depressed Mercedes, once again. Maybe she'll finally find a man this year? I sure hope so!
On with the good news!
2. Both Harry Shum Jr. and Darren Criss have been promoted to series regulars! This means more Klaine, and hopefully (crossing my fingers!) more of Blaine's backstory revealed! Personally, I also can't wait for more of Mike's mad dancing skills! He was amazing in P.Y.T.!
3. I'm also assuming that all of you have seen the kisses between Brittana and Klaine last night from the Dublin Glee Live tour. If you haven't... well, you better go see it soon.
4. And if you're a fellow Darren Criss and Chris Colfer fan, you might want to tune into the BBC radio again on July 7th at 6:30 (I'm not sure which time zone, but I'll inform you when I find out!) to hear an interview with the two handsome guys!

Chord Overstreet is BACK IN BUSINESS, BABY! He's not promoted to a regular, but he has NOT been cut from the show, says a few sources.
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY. That is all.

I wouldn't say quit. He was offered a storyline/amount of episodes and he refused the offer. Up until now no one, and I do mean no one, besides the Glee Writers, Chord Overstreet and Overstreet's management knows what the deal fully entailed. In fact, many suspect that the deal was made in the wake of Sammites, Overstreet's fans, outrage at his demotion from 'guest star' to 'occasional guest star'. The point is that yes he did refuse an offer and, if we take what RIB (Ryan, Ian and Brad) say at face value, he's leaving the show.
Although, RIB are known to be incredible trolls and Glee is one of the shows with the most rumors and speculation surrounding it.

I stand corrected. xD However, given that Ryan Murphey revealed at Comic-Con that Chord wouldn't be returning, I think it's fairly safe to say he won't be- however, they have been known to, as you said, troll the fans before.
When was he demoted to "occasional guest star"?
